Just wanted to share that, for the second time, I've ordered and received refurbished equipment from Apple and I couldn't say it has ever been used. It comes packaged and clean like absolutely brand new stuff at a price tag 30% less.
First time it was a Time Capsule (14 months ago), this time an Airport Express. Awesome products and sexy looking.
I'm very pleased and would buy refurbished from Apple anytime again. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

I love buying refurbished from Apple.
Most of it hasn't been used.
It comes off the assembly line with a small defect, many times just cosmetic.
One tower I got was ever so slightly bent around the cd drive opening. Just barely visible.
But was one of the most reliable machines I ever had.

my MBpro is over 3 years old. I've done a hard drive replacement (b/c I dropped the laptop) and it still runs like a champ.
best part is, they sent me a pimped out version (2x HD storage, 2x RAM) than I ordered. i felt guilty and called to let them know, they let me keep the computer.
but shhhh.... | | | |

a lot of refurbed stuff isn't ever used, it is most likely stuff that has been returned as dealer excess, never even opened. Apple or otherwise. Lots of gov't regulations force them to define as 'refurbed' even tho it hasn't been technically 'refurbed' or even touched.

Refurb MBP in February. It's been a great machine. About a month ago it started showing "Service Battery". Went to the Apple store last week...brand new battery. I have until Feb 12 to buy "Apple Care". Not sure about that yet.

I used to get my laptops at the Dell Factory Outlet before it closed. I was always happy with the refubs I got so it isn't limited to Apple.

Referb Apple is one of the best deals you can get. Same warranty, brand new parts, and you can still purchase the extended warranty. I would never buy new lol.
Actually the best deal is to keep an eye on when they refresh their models then go into a retail store and request the End Of Life pricing on the replaced model. Huge savings because they want to get them out of the store quickly. (from a former retail employee)
