New Park coming: NW Harris County (TX) - 12-13-2011, 09:48 AM

I've passed by this spot daily for years, recently a sign was erected indicating a new pocket park coming. Located on Eldridge between Grant and Cypress-N Houston Rd, it has a large pond and is a great place for sunsets with lots of trees. The cleared shoreline is wide enough for groups, but there are no structures or equipment (and probably won't ever be as a lot of these are minimally enhanced to keep costs down). I imagine that it will be more useful for nature shoots as birds are common. There is a new subdivision going in next to it but it is fairly easy to keep the houses out of the shot.

This is from earlier this month.

t looks like it's got a lot of potential. Is this:
the area Ken? (BTW... I discovered you can grab and move the map to see the area better by left clicking on it and moving the mouse)

If so, is it closer to Grant or Cypress North Houston?

bugs, critters and other surprises, too! This neighbors Cypress Creek which floods a lot (maybe not recently tho...) so lots of things make a home in the flood pools once they find their way in. I am curious as to how much is actually included in the park, so much of the area is on the flood plain so it is fairly worthless commercially. The satellite views show where the mullets have torn up the place.....
