Why do I suddenly have the urge to dot my "i"s with hearts?

Very clever. Worked with a pair of almost 30- something's a few years back. It was like, you know, Val - speak all day, totally. You know? Reeeeeally. And they wondered why no one took them seriously even tho they both had, like, MBAs you know.

I wanted to slap them..

I had a young girl while in the Air Force that worked for me for a while that would always to the "you know" thing. A couple of us always answered "no I don't know, what do you mean". We actually got her to brake that habit after a couple of years.

I know all sorts of guys that quote movies/tv shows/song lyrics all the time. I occasionally restrain myself from stabbing them to death.

And when did "Riiiiiiiight?" become an acceptable way to agree with someone?

Hm, that's what I tell people when I think they're crazy, so I have no idea.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight was a tagline repeated by Bill Cosby 40 years ago when he was a comedian. It was always a form of sarcasm then.

I am currently on a quest to stop my 13 year old daughter from using the word "like" before and in the middle of every sentence...

"Like this one time, at band camp..."
"It was like totally cool..."

You should like, get a spray bottle, and like, spray her, like a cat, when they pee on the carpet. You know?

Trust me. I'm using every weapon in my arsenal to arrest this behavior. And this from a straight A honors student. I just don't get it...

Although she was born in the valley in California. Albeit the Silicon Valley, but I guess she is technically a "valley girl"...

I know you're familiar with the term S.O.L.
