Weight Loss Challenge - 12-29-2011, 10:11 PM

Okay Boys and Girls.

My wife just threw a challenge at me, at dinner this evening.
If I lose 50 pounds by my birthday, which is June 1st (and trust me, I have it to lose) then I can get a new camera body for my birthday.

My 50D is getting a little tired and I've had my eye on a 5DMkII for a while now.
Perhaps I'll really let her have it, and get the 1Dx.
It's supposed to hit the streets in March.
The 5DMkiii (or whatever its successor is) should be out by then too.

I was looking for the IR image that Abel shot at the Meetup in April of '09 that showed me, but it's now a bad link.
Abel, still got that image? I try my damnedest to stay behind cameras, and not in front of them. So there aren't too many images of me.

Although, I'm still gunning for the Harley.
What the heck. My truck will be paid off by then.

I'll lose 50lbs, too, if there's a 5D III in it for me!

Good luck.

I'd be up for a Pixtus Biggest Loser Challenge. I want to lose 35-40lbs before July 1.

Hmm. I wonder if we could put up some kind of wager. Everyone who wants in, kick in $20. Winner gets the pot.

But then again, there's really no way to verify what each of us weighs as we go along.

Wait, wait, wait... what if we are on medications that induce weight loss as a side effect?

Photo of digital scale with date written on the card and our name?

I am trying to lose somewhere along the line of 20% of my body weight. I am in the area of 200 (was as high as 210 as low at 190 in the last two months.) I would be happy at 160-165.

I would be good with sending the money to a third party somewhere or go on the honor system. Adrian see each other semi-regularly at Pixtus events in Houston.

Just don't give the money to Abel to hold. I'm thinking the winner would end up with an empty bottle of Jagger instead...

The problem folks, is the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off. At least in the beginning.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have 100 pounds to lose.
Yeah, I'm 6'3" and weigh in at the most I've ever weighed.
The shipping scale at work said 320.2 lbs on the Friday right before the Christmas.
So dropping the first 50 SHOULD be easy. It's the other 50 that's going to be more challenging.

No fair way to do this! Some have more to lose than others, so how do you decide? If, say Junior needs to lose 50, and sally only needs to lose 10, who wins? First one to lose the desired amount? No fair! One who loses the most? Still no fair!
Then again, men have a higher metabolism rate than women, so no fair pitting oranges against apples!
Just can't be done!
Whoever loses is the winner!
