Time to stir up something... - 12-31-2011, 04:23 PM

So I have been seeing this a lot due to the fact I am from amarillo and a bunch of friends have been posting this up on their wall.

Haley Faith Wilson missing: Father Ray makes YouTube video to track down daughter | Mail Online

I commend the father for trying very hard to find his daughter. It's the devils advocate side of me that is wondering "what's the underlying issue?".

She is legally an adult and chose to run away (note, plans, etc). Now here is why I am going on my deductions. What caused her to run away? Seems she was decently prepared and this wasn't one of those random flukes where a kid runs away to a friends house for a weekend to garner some attention. I almost want to say if someone is pushed to this, maybe it's better?

Any thoughts on this?

Regardless of what the law says, 17 is hardly an adult. In fact, adolescence lasts well into the mid-20s nowadays. If she were my daughter, I'd be doing everything I could to find her. But I do understand the questions.

my first thought on this as well as I was watching it.

If it is all on the level, then I hope he finds her safe and soon.

Seems like stuff has to be pretty rotten to just take off and leave, and generally a kid is not going to leave in the middle of the school year.

If this is as well planned as it seems, then surely she left an electronic message trail. Debit cards, emails, past text messages, etc. hell even browsing history, shouldn't be too hard to piece together where she is.

Sad, but not much of a surprise.

I personally am a little offended by the method of delivery...the cards themselves. I fell like he is looking for advertisement or fame of some sort and is on the heels of Breedlove's video...and to me it feels like a slap in the face. But I do agree with the fact that something somewhere smells fishy.

I agree, coincidence that Breedlove's video started hitting the news Christmas and this guy did one the same? Something is fishy

She was "found" today. At the expense of some old high school friends, I gave my opinion.

There are thousands of real missing children who need to be found, this one could have went by the wayside (sorry for the harshness).

I guess it's true about kidnappings / slow news times during the holidays.
