Question What is your New Years Resolution for photography? - 01-02-2012, 02:57 PM

Q: What is your New Year’s Resolution for Photography?? If you made one last year, did you keep it?

A: My goal for this year is to take more meaningful photos of my children by documenting their various goals, achievements, and accomplishments throughout the year. Not by quickly taking snapshots but setting up lights and practicing posing.

Making an effort to shoot more models. Work on my lighting with the gear I have, and finally upgrade from my t1i to a full frame camera.

5616 x 3744

That's actually more than just a cheese resolution joke. I want to crop a lot less and get better exposures in-camera so my camera's nice resolution is being fully utilized.

Learn better posting throughout the year and keep practicing as much as possible. Also start a little more landscape photography since I just ordered the Sigma 10-20mm.

If past years are any indication... I want to practice little, educate myself less & going into 2013, be further behind in my pursuit of photography than ever before....

I don't have specific goals (yes, without specific goals, it's much harder to achieve them).

I know I don't have the commitment to do a 365, but I need to go out and shoot more.

And I need to stop fantasizing about how awesome it would be to have better gear and learn to use the gear that I have to the best of my ability.

I did a 365, but when I finished, it was more like 45. :|

Shoot every day or at least several times per week.
Work on and learn more lighting techniques.
Stop buying stuff I don't really need!
