Yup! Think I'll see what prods Dr Pepper Snapple owns and never buy them again!
The Oldest and Smallest bottler of Dr. Pepper. No More.

I've been to the plant and taken the tour. Very hospitable folks!

Big Business has no sensitivity!

So sorry for the folks down in Dublin and for the employees that had to be laid off. They'll likely be hired back by DRPS but it won't be the same...

Not that I agree with how Dr Pepper handled this issue, but in reading the law suit, it looks like Dublin would have been fine if they hadn't tried to retail beyond their territory or altered the bottle logo.

Sad they couldn't have worked it out.

They would not have survived if they stayed in the territory anyway.

I was a dedicated dr pepper drinker. Now I need to find an alternate favorite beverage.

Really disappointed with this, and ashamed to have DP headquarters in this state.

I know I'm in the minority here, but it seems to me like Dublin Dr Pepper had a contract with Dr Pepper Snapple about how and where they (Dublin) could distribute their products.
It seems like Dublin Dr Pepper broke the contract by trying to distribute in areas it was not authorized to, per the contract. If Dublin Dr Pepper could not make a profit, under its agreement, so be it. It is not right for them to try and sell where they are not licensed to.

On the other hand, it would seem to me that Dr Pepper Snapple, would have been better served to try to negotiate a settlement (which they very well may have tried to do). It is definitely giving them bad press! But it doesn't change the fact (as far as we understand), that Dublin was trying to do something they were not allowed to do!

Just my opinion, and for the record, my absolute favorite soft drink is REAL (Cane Sugar) Dr Pepper! In an ice cold bottle!

I think a TexasPixtus would be frowned upon too. So it looks like they are going to continue on as an independent bottler and continue with the museum and soda shop. With some successful marketing this could turn into a win. I would try their new offerings.

Yeah, but as part of terms for the settlement, there were 30+ people from the bottline plant that were also let go. Depending on who it was, or what they did.... if you cant make it like you used to... it can impact your other products. All depends on how much knowledge was lost with the people that were let go.

Sad news from Dublin. Just wished I had made it to the museum before this happened. Now I just might go to support the people and the town.

I think it's kind of funny that confused people are buying up the sugarcane DP available at most grocery stores and trying to pass them off as Dublin DP. The non-Dublin stuff does use Imperial cane sugar and comes in the glass 8-oz. bottles, but unless it uses the Dublin name and logo, it's still worth more or less the $7 you paid for it!

I'm going to keep drinking my remaining bottles of Dublin DP except for one.

DRP's facebook page is blowing up.

https://www.facebook.com/DrPepper

Yesterday they made the mistake of posting "The only thing I would ever trade a Dr Pepper for is..."

I think they are getting the response loud and clear.
