We had a 286 CompuAdd when I was growing up.

Went from that to a P2 400 Dell with 128MB of RAM and an 8.6GIG HD. Also had ZIP drive, 3.5" and DVD player. Later added a CD-RW.

We never had a computer in our house growing up. It wasn't until I was about 18 or 19 and moved out.
By that time I think it was up to like 200mhz and 64mb of RAM.

Not mine, but when I was first introduced to computers, it was a 286 running DOS. Most kids probably don't even know what that is.

My first computer was a home-built 2MHz Z80 with 4KB of memory, built on a wire wrap board. I built an I/O board with 16 switches for setting an address, and eight for data. I wrote a (very) small operating system and a BASIC interpreter. I had a cassette recorder for mass storage.
