I buy a few books on amazon, because I like physical copies of materials. Anyway, lately Amazon has been trying to buy back certain things. Usually it's one of three books that it offers to buy back, but today it's offered it's most insulting offer, yet. They're willing to offer me less than one third of what I paid for my book of Vogue covers! But they're willing to pay more on the page where I can see the original price! I feel like someone from a pawn shop has come over to my house and is offering me various prices on my stuff! Am I alone in this feeling?

Rule of thumb...!!! ....You don't sell to a pawn shop...or amazon...you only buy...!!! Unless you don't mind getting less for an item...they are there to make money...and usually they want 200% margin...

Yeah, I avoid pawn shops like the plague. Once, 10 years ago, I haggled the price of a small 2.5" portable TV down to $40, from $60. That was probably his plan all along, but I've never sold anything at one. When I was a kid, I wanted to sell my old radio shack police scanner. I think they offered me $12 or something. I was blown away.

from watching pawn stars and that other pawn shop show. they always try to sell an item for twice what they paid. So if they want 200 you can always talk them down to 150 unless its a high demand item

They gotta make money just like everyone else. I guess if you don't feel like it's a good enough deal then maybe shop else where?

Pawn shops aren't as bad as college bookstores...
