I've learned in the three years that my husband and I have been married that I need to be selective about the movies I watch. We are a blended family with 4 boys ages 2-13. Surisingly, its not the influence on the kids I'm worried about with some movies, but the influence on my husband.

I love stupid comedies. I grew up watching National Lampoon and John Candy movies. Now I enjoy the comedies of Will Ferrell and John C Reilley. My youngest brother and I recently introduced my husband to Stepbrothers, thinking he'd hate it because he's more of an old war documentary films person and purveyor of manmovies. We were so wrong - he loved it. The day after we watched it the FIRST time he came home from work with detailed plans to make bunk beds for his boys - complete with giant pencil. And he's been listening to Guns & Roses non-stop. He's now seen the movie about 10 times and follows them up with "i know I can make bunk beds myself babe, just give me a chance." His poor kids... :p

"I'm so not a raper." That movie is in my top 5 comedies, and I love watching the military history channel.
