Gift card I can't use - 01-21-2012, 10:09 PM

What do you do with a gift card you can't use? I got a gift card to a certain camera chain that I don't use, and I can't bring myself to use it. It's only $20, but their prices are so ridiculously high, I don't even want to use the gift card to buy something that costs double compared to everywhere else. What do you do with something like this? Shipping is $7 for EVERYTHING. Aside from the very crappy selection online, I called the stores today to see if they had a simple memory card in stock. One store didn't even answer the phone. The other store hung up on me. After calling back, they said they don't even carry that line of card, despite the fact that it's all over their website.

What do I do with this thing? I thought I'd buy a dumb Gorillapod for my GoPro. It's $25, plus $7 to ship. Amazon has the same thing for $14, and shipping is free over $25. Seriously, what do I do with it?

I've looked at some of those. They don't even have one of the six or seven names this store goes by listed on any of those websites.

Sell it on eBay. Mostly you get fairly close to the value of the gift card.

I got a gift card for $15, and I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I finally got one ink cartridge for my Epson printer. It was $3 more than what I usually pay, but I used the card.

Do people really buy them there? Maybe I need to sell the empty ones I have.

I may just buy something stupid with it. I wish their stuff wasn't so freakin high.

Holy ****! Are you kidding me? You can't use a gift card that was purchased in the store to make an online purchase from their website. This place is ridiculous. I hope this entire unnamed camera store chain sinks into the toilet.

If you name the store, I can be a warning for the rest of us.

I figured that would be an easy one to guess. They have several names.

Wolf Camera
Ritz Camera
Kits Camera
Camera Shop
Inkleys Camera

I would avoid at ALL costs.
