Don, I have a Hygain 3750 transceiver, of which there were only a few hundred ever made, that seems to sell used for $1200-1400, if you have the full kit (transceiver + external 2nd VFO + speaker cabinet). It is a "collector's item" because of its rarity. The issue is that it is very heavy - - it would ship in 2-3 boxes and shipping alone would be $175-200.
I have considered selling it on Ebay, which would probably maximize the amount I would get for it. but they seem to charge you quite a bit for the selling support as well as for each little capability you use... pictures, reserve amounts, buy it now, etc. That's really what I wanted to talk to someone about...
I have not had any contact with a local club here in Houston.. maybe I should look into that... although the likelihood of selling it through a local club would be a function of someone being a collector of this equipment.
So that is really what I am looking to get some advice on... how do I really need to set up my account to sell it? ...Or should I just try to sell it on one do the for sale forums on one of the ham radio forums?
