So I ordered my speedlite, trigger, receivers, stands, etc on Jan 30th. I chose the FREE shipping option because I'm a major tightwad, so Amazon said it'd be a week and a half to two weeks for my order to get here.

WRONG!!!

It all got here today. 3 days. Freaking fantastic! <3 Amazon so much right now. I'm going to spread blindness throughout the land!

I love that they under-promise and over deliver. Then I'm also really glad I didn't pay the expedited shipping that would have gotten it delivered on the same same day as I got it.

What's not cool is when you see it hit a delivery company hub and sit for a day or two because it isn't due yet.

I bought a car charger for my iphone 4 ... a month ago... Shipping timeframe is between January 31 and February 16. Not Amazon's fault, but sellers. seller is in Hong Kong and apparently they have to deliver it by row boat to the states. Seller won't respond to messages. Only bad experience I have had through Amazon that I can remember.

Consider self publishing a photo book, DVD, or video download with Amazon. Read this article... "Publishing world 'hit by a bus' " Publishing world ‘hit by a bus’

The lawyer in the article wrote a book, then tried to get it published the usual way... get an agent, who then finds a publisher, who you then hope will publish your book. Frustrated by being rejected over and over, she self published with Amazon. Amazon pays you 30%, and keeps 70% on anything you sell for under $2.99. Over $2.99, Amazon pays you 70% and they keep 30%. With their marketing power she, (the lawyer), decided to sell her book for $0.99 and quickly sold 400,000 copies electronically. Making herself $130,000.00 and is climbing the charts. And now the publishers are knocking on her door... who needs them now? You set the price to sell at... not Amazon.

Now consider how many people will buy a Latte for $5.00, and all the people with Kindle's, iPod's, laptops, that would not hesitate to download a photo book that you produced electronically of some theme that is close to you. Or maybe a photo video, or photo DVD... You get the idea... Here is the link...
