Let's see. 30 gallons for the truck, 35 gallons for the boat, that $375 for a family day of fun. That doesn't even include the launch fees, or anything else that goes with the day.

Just another reason I want to keep my commute short with a new job.

It's actually a fair price imo. Adjusted for inflation, reg unleaded is the same today as it was in early 80's. and certainly cheaper than 2008. While you won't hear me complain of something being too cheap, Americans have enjoyed cheap energy over the past couple of decades.

So no mention of other countries? Or their leaders? Or what the gasoline price is? none of this is allowed? Just trying to figure out this moving line. My post wasn't political (or subjective), it was factual.

some reality:
at $4/g, the difference over 20k miles (/year) between 30mpg and 40 mpg is a whopping
$667/year, barely 2 months of new car payments. So if you are getting 30mpg and the car is paid for, buying a new car to get 40mpg is a very false economy.

Maybe there's an efficient way they could get oil from the fields in Montana, the Dakotas, and Canada to where the bulk of the country's refining capacity is located. The extra supply would probably help to mitigate gas prices some.

Or just limit the talk to ONLY photography. Somethings can't be discussed without inclusion of world leaders, issues and real facts of life.

Oh well, just another reason to not frequent this place.

No politics, no religion. Typical for many private forums out there. Is it that difficult to avoid certain subjects? There are forums that allow a wider range of discussion that may require thicker skin. Given the environment that we are working to maintain here, those are the restrictions.

If that is a deal breaker for you, then I am sure you will not have any issue finding forums with more open discussion on religion and politics.

Oh no, it isn't a deal breaker. I am not attached to ANY forum enough that it will bother me one way or another. I rarely visit ANY forum and wouldn't miss any one of them. I enjoy my time with my family and friends more than being on a computer any day of the week.

Thanks Keith for the explanation...

I remember in or around 1997 I was filling up for like $0.77 a gallon and that weekend I went to Vegas and saw prices that were around $2.10 a gallon and the cabbie almost drove into a pole when I told him what I paid per gallon on my way to the airport...

Prices fluctuate.. we kinda gotta roll with the punches.

Well what did you expect? With all due respect, you post an article full of speculation based on world politics, therefore the article is political in nature. I think we can all agree that the price of a gallon of gas is based more on politics than on anything else. I love ya Sonny, but whad 'ya think was gonna happen?
