We are SO excited!!

Last year, we were contacted through OMP by someone claiming to be a rep for Johnny Lightning. We didn't know who Johnny Lightning was at first and did a little homework only to find out that they are the same maker of another line of collectible muscle cars that my husband collects and they are a major competitor for Hot Wheels. The rep explained that they were trying to launch new line of the small die cast cars that would feature pictures of models on the packaging.

The initial series that we did with them is a calendar series that will be exclusive with WalMart. It was supposed to be released just before Christmas, but WalMart had some licensing issues and ended up pushing it back to 2007. They flew me and 2 of the models to Chicago last August to introduce the idea of girls and cars to the collector club and it was a huge success. So huge, in fact, that they made us an offer that anything that features pictures of girls on Johnny Lightning packaging will be (exclusively) our images and our models. That in itself was exciting enough.

Walking on faith, I agreed to do a second series with them a couple months ago without seeing the first set. The second series now has a release date in April and will be sold in WalMart, Target, Toys R Us, and any other retail shop nationwide that sells collectible die cast cars. The release date is a for sure thing and we just got our boxes of them. This is our first national account and we are SO excited! 4 of the girls from this series will be flying to Chicago with me in August to be divas for the collectors again, signing autographs and being pampered for the weekend and they are getting as excited as we are.

I was looking at the cars and it brought back memories of which cars (real not diecast) I have owned. The 65 GTO was probably my most fun car. Also had the 57 Chevy before that and instead of the 65 Nova SS I had a 72 Nova SS. Ahhhh, the good old days!
