How do you go about getting permission to take pics of seemingly abandoned buildings? i'm not talking about stuff in the city. i mean really really old houses or barns out in the country. as i understand it, as long as you don't go inside the fence or whatever, you can take pics.

i really like getting pics of old, neglected places out in the country. does anyone else have similar experiences? i'd love to hear about them.

Good advice. In "Guerilla Photography/Filmmaking," many just get in and get out before anyone takes notice... just don't get shot (and I don't mean with a camera!). If you intend to ever market and sell the images, however, you'll need the owner to sign a Property Release (much like a model release form, except for property instead). I usually find that if there's someone around and you ask - they won't mind. If someone comes along during, inform them that you are not shooting commercial images.
