A renowned psychiatrist from UC Irvine was duped into squandering at least $1.3 million of his family's fortune on a Nigeria Internet scam, according to a lawsuit recently filed by his son.

Amazed that people respond to that. I wonder what his Wunderlic score was.

I have hear of this scam for years. I have read about it in the paper. I have also hear about it in the tv. It is people's creed that gets them in this mess. I get one of this email's once every six months. All I do is hit the delete button and its gone. Poeple are always looking for the fast buck.

Just plain greed is what it comes down too. I get at least 5 a week and sometimes as many as 20 in a week-most get filtered out but a few get posted to the main mailbox and I may glance at 2% of them to just see how they fracture the language.

I'm with you Bullsparade. Lost my money too!!! thank goodness I only responded to 20 of the requests instead of the hundreds I get in my email. LOTF Its only money, I still have my health though. ( I think) That's proves my point that most shrinks need more help than their patients.

Speaking of scams.....has anyone ever heard of Picture.com?? You have to send them $$ so they can send you an award for you wonderful picture. NO I DID NOT SEND $$$ My friend saw this and "entered" a pic of mine a long time ago. I just got another email from them wanting my $$ so they could send my fantastic award.
