Ok Im a nervouse WRECK! - 03-06-2006, 11:30 PM

Hubby has to go in for Surgery tommorow morning. He has to have some bone fragments removed from his Knee. No Biggie but the last time he had Surgery (lap Band) I was a Nervouse WRECK until he was out of surgery and back at home! So wish me luck on keeping my nerves in tact long enough to not scare the daylights outta hubby! hehehe

LOL Yeah they are just going in to remove Pieces of free floating Bone chips in his knee. I just HATE that he is ALWAYS my support system and now he is going to be under. My mom and dad live in plano so they arent TOO far away but they wont be there while he is in Surgery since they live SO far away from us. Just trying to keep calm for his sake. Once he is under Ill read or something to keep my nerves calm. The next few days are going to be a challange since he cant really walk. He is going to drive me up a WALL! hehehe Ill just sneak away every now and then to come post and to get away. heheh

I know all about knee surgery too. Had both of mine worked on. Its a pain, but not that big of a deal. My wife was pretty nervous too when I went in last time but I wasnt. Weird, huh? He'll be fine. grab a donut and a book and relax. The real work comes when he cant walk for a few days and cries like a baby that it hurts (guys cant take pain you know, lol). If its just bone chips, he shouldnt be down for more than a few days, and maybe on crutches for a week or two afterwards. Piece of cake...

heh heh.. You too, huh? I was on crutches almost 3 weeks last time, but the first time it was 9 weeks. Both were just a little more than bone chips though, lol.

Good luck, I hope everything goes very well. I think surgery is nerve-wracking no matter what! Hope his recovery is speedy (but my mom had knee surgery so I know it's tough).

Cynthia,
It will be a piece of cake. You do not have to worry quite so much. I just had bone fragments taken out of my toe and the surgery was easy.
Anestheia is so much better and easier to recover from now then even a couple of years ago.
The recovery was doing great until I picked up the camera again and started walking for hours on end. Dang tripod! Never drop a tripod on your foot! It hurts! And, it has really slowed down the photography.
My daughter used my same surgeon and she was up bouncing around even sooner than I was.
Pamper him when he comes home and everything will be fine. It will just give you both more time to work with Photoshop during the recovery process.

LOL thanks for ALL the well wishes. Looking back on the surgery this AM I am laughing at myself. Your right it was a Calk walk! I went and got some Starbucks, Read a book and before I knew it, the dr was standing at my side saying everyithing went VERY well. They had to shave part of his Knee Cap to smooth it out since there was bone missing from it. They Surgeon said he found a piece of bone about the size of a silver Dollar that was causing most of his Pain and his knee lockups so I am MORE then happy they got that outta there. They also sent us home with this REALLY cool device that is a cooler with a hose attached to this "Thing" That wraps around his knee. You put ice and water in the cooler and it circulates cold ice water to the affected area. He has to wear that and the dressing for 48 - 72 hours and then pretty much as needed. Ill take a pic of it and post it later when he is asleep. If I start taking pics now and tell him I am posting them on TPF I think he will think I am a bit obsesed with TPF! hehehe
Thank you SO much for your support and well wishes. Hopefully he wont "Milk This for all its worth" Or Im going to HAVE to get outta here and go take some pics! hhehehe
