In my past forum life if someone posted a picture of a widget and I had a picture of a widget, in a lot of cases I would post mine shot and comment on theirs.

Well it looks like that is not the way I should be doing things, I guess it looks like I am hijacking the thread. That was never a term used in my other forum active. I am not really trying to hijack a thread, that is just the way another forum was run.

So if I have hijacked anyones thread I am truly sorry and I will try and stop doing this, old habits are sometimes hard to stop so do cut me a little slack on it.

Wow, I guess I'm a hijacker from way back. I hereby grant permission for anyone to hijack my threads at any time. I like to see different interpretations of a theme or subject in a thread. I guess I never considered my work good enough to be exclusive. Aye aye captain!

But there are so many widgets out there, the punishment seems to be somewhat harse for the crime. :) Maybe just place Bill on a "No-Widget for X amount of time" punishment which might make everyone happy :D

Tom posted 3 excellent shots of green snakes and then I posted one, is that hijacking.

I am really not sure what hijacking is, is it not trying to take over a thread.

I can see where it could be considered Hijacking... but I'm with everyone else. This is a photography forum, we learn by comparing and contrasting... I always love to see how other people interpret the same things I do... its one of the reasons photography never gets old!

And really, isn't that sort of comparison.. variations on a subject or theme.. the root of what we want to do if/when we all get together at a location and let loose with the cameras?

Ditto...I learn by posting my widget (OK, photo of a widget to be exact), having people tear it apart, post their photo of a widget, and then get revenge by watching others tear that one apart.

Not sure if that's hijacking or road rage (photo rage to be exact).

bill im guitly of that too.. in fact i think it was on Danes fountain thread, i posted my image of Mecom fountains and mentioned that that locale he shot makes for nice night shots too...

Actually, what constitutes highjacketing a thread would be to post something that would change the theme of the thread thus misdirecting it toward a different subject matter.

In other words Bill if you posted a pic of a midget instead of a widget you would be highjacketing the thread. :)
