Thanks, that was taken near Puerto Rico during a missile test excercise in like 1990. I wish I could find the negative, but no keyword searching through my boxes of crap is possible!

It also can fall under an illegal substance based on school policy. She never told them that this was in her possession. If she had all of this would be a moot point.
Really? I didnt know we had given the school district the right to determine the federally regulated drug laws. The feds dont consider it illegal nor would a police officer or DEA agent who is in charge of enforcing such laws. At no time would they say it was "illegal" rather it would be in question until verified by the prescribing DR.

This discussion is like so many other in so many other forums. I wish we could just use common sense. But the fact of the matter is that we have to use policies and guidelines because too many folks have too many ideas on what is considered normal...

I'm sure if you asked a group of pedophiles if what they do is normal, they would say yes. Again, a wildly exagerrated example, but a valid one nonetheless. "Normal" and "accetable" kind of depend on who you are asking. When you have a society that is as diverse as ours, it is getting harder and harder to find a common middle group on what is acceptable. In lieu of that, each little part of that world tries it's best to do what it feels is best to protect itself. The school has it's policy, some governments have theirs and so on. It's not ideal under all circumstances, but still the best system I have seen in over seventy-five countries that I have personally visited....

On that plane picture Rick, it was through the plexiglass windo with a little old film p&s. I used to carry that camera in my flight bag. I need to find that negative.

Funny, I never used to blow those up to 400% to check sharpness, I just used to enjoy them....

I think the thread has run its course...

This thread is very similar to any topic of religion and/or politics with regards to having proponents for both sides that believe very strongly in their views. Having a debate which includes people from both ends of the spectrum whom feel so strongly about their position will almost always result in a stalemate since neither side is willing to budge from their platform.

I believe all sides and participants here have voiced their opinions and concerns in regards to Janet's situation and I feel that it is best that this thread be closed.

Janet, I am very glad to hear that you and your daughter escaped with minimal damage in regards to her punishment. I sincerely feel that this thread has opened many people's eyes to the current Zero Tolerance rules that are being place in school nowadays. If anything, rest assured that you have informed many parents that have read this thread about the potential problems of taking medication to school without having it properly checked in with the school nurse. You have brought a great awareness to others that will help them avoid being in the same situation that you and your daughter have unfortunately experienced.... Thank You.

If anyone would like to discuss, comment or question my decision to close this thread, please feel free to PM me.
