I bought a used Halliburton Case on E-bay that had a foam liner in it. I received it a while back and didn't pay much attention to it other than to see that the liner was in decent shape. Well I started messing with it today and found out that the top liner was actually two layers thick and inbetween the layers there were some vignette filters and gells! I was pretty shure that is had been a photographers case before and I guess whoever sold it just didn't pull out the liners to see what all was in there.
Also picked up a honeycomb grid and when it showed up it was a version that has a gel holder built into it! *seller had not noted that in the auction.
A while back I picked up a box of old film strips for a couple bucks, well it turns out there was a lot of actual film in the lot also, uncut 35 mm Kodak. Most of it was from the early 30's and was black and white but a couple rolls were early Kodachromes from it looks to be 1938 and the color in them is still pretty strong.
So no telling what you will get sometimes as hidden gems from that giant garage sale! |
