Chief thank you for the link. Having sex offenders register is not only the law, it is an effort to protect innocent children and/or adults. I for one have the site daniel posted in my bookmarks. Am I paranoid? no. Am I aware of my children's surroundings? Hell yes.

I'll echo the previous mods posts by saying let's keep personal feelings of paranoia or "the man watching" out of this...and keep a helpful thread open.

I might be wrong here as far as the finger printing goes but don't they still take foot prints of babies when the are born? I remember them doing both of my kids at the hospital. I've had both of my kids finger printed for safety reasons and didn't see anything wrong with it. It's just a quicker way to indentify. I was finger printed when I went into the military, I was finger printed by the company I work for and I was finger printed by the police (long time ago!!!) Back when I was still young and dumb, not like now when I'm old and dumb . I have been on several of these sites and they were very accurate on the offenders in our area. We live in a small town and whenever a sex offender moves in there's usually folks on the square letting evertone know about it. Some may say it's an invasion of privacy but I think most people will agree once you comite a sex crime against a minor you should loose all your privacy. Family watchdog is one of my favorite sites out of all of them.
