It's an emergency food item, not something to snack on a during the day.

Even as a survival item it's an insane amount of calories...whose daily caloric intake is 3,600???

Uhhh if you don't have any food, and your body is feeding on itself to provide energy, or if that was your one meal for the day? Military MRE's (that I used to eat 3-4 a day of) are about 2500 to 3K each.

Damn!

Not too long ago a case of these showed up at my house by mistake. What the heck would anyone do with a 1090 calorie drink?

hey... if I was out there stranded somewhere and might be there for a while til help arrived, I'd eat the butt end out of a possum if it meant live or die. A 3600 calorie snack bar that tastes like apple and cinnamon sounds very much better than that possum does.

Awhile back when I was going to the gym to work out and lose some weight I would stop off at smoothie king afterwards to get a protein smoothie thinking I was doing some good for myself.

Then I took the time to look online and found out the smoothie I would get almost everyday was like 950 calories EACH! Ouch… go to the gym to burn off calories and yet I was defeating the purpose once I drank that smoothie! Haven’t had one since!
