New Nikon Raw Converter - With Nik Filters - 04-25-2006, 08:28 PM

they had a demo today at the tps-

nikon has partnered up with nik filters for a raw converter that has the most incredible cool stuff. you can set "points" on the picture - adjust for brightness/color/saturation, etc - and then set another point..do the same...

so take a landscape pic like a mountain range, with a lake in front.

set a point, adjust the sky to your liking...set another point...set the mountain range - adjust white balance on the snow... set another point..paint in the tree line with the settings you choose to lighten them up - .set another point...adjust adjust saturation and hue of the lake.

it looks really slick and i know i'll be getting this one. i believe the lady said it was due out in june...

the lady doing the nik filter presentation was VERY good, i have a new appreciation for what they are capable of doing.

I have been waiting for this. It was originally to be released in the spring, but Nikon just posted on thier web site that it has been delayed until summer time. How much of it did you get to see?

pretty much what i had described there...a mountain scene...with changes made to just about every part of the image. i just went to their website and looked at their little demonstration - it was just that easy. changing sky colors, etc. sorry for all the canon users..i know you'll all be jealous!
