Astros Opening Day!

I'll be there with my Canon 70-200 + Sigma 1.4TC and an Hawaiian shirt (not that doing my best to look like Bob means I'll have pictures like Bob!)

Its 8:30, I can see a corner of Minute Maid Park between a couple of buildings from my office window and even though the roof is open at the moment, looking at the sky the smart money suggests the good guys will be playing under the roof tonight. Hope there's enough light that I will be able use the 1.4TC I brought.

This is really bad. Its a busy time of the month for me at work and I can't stop thinking about the start of baseball season!

Well, the roof is still open, even though there has been some light sprinkling downtown. 'Stros should start BP in about an hour. I plan on leaving work about 4:30, getting to MMP about 5:00, buying first beer about 5:05, celebrating victory around 9:00 (there will likely be additional beer between 5:05 and 9:00.)

Well the roof stayed open (yay) but the outcome wasn't what I'd hoped for (7-3 loss). I had a great time though -- nothing beats Opening Day! I took a few shots but was pretty far up in the 400 section and doubt I got much good out of it. Can't wait to see the shots from the lucky dogs with credentials...

Wish the game would have ended differently (especially for the stinkin' Cards fan that was sitting in the section I was in!) But that's only one game, 161 more to go.
