Am I the only one who finds this comment from someone named NORM funny?

Not to be picky... but to me the analogy doesn't really hold...

In order for a military operation to succeed you must have all three ranks operating in precise unison... And if you are missing a part than another rank must fill the hole left...

The same is true in photography... If your gear isn't up to snuff (and I don't mean it has to be the "best") but everything else works than you still can end up with a poor image. Same is true if lighting alone is poor, or colors alone are poor. It takes a healthy combination of all working together to produce a well captured image.

That being said if it it PJ type stuff... nothing really matters except timing.

For PJ stuff, timing is probably the most important aspect, but there are many other elements at play as well, just as there is in all types of photography. Timing is one thing, but if you take a boring shot or it is badly composed, it becomes just another bad shot.

You know... as soon as I hit "submit" I had a feeling that might get taken a little more literally than I meant it... I agree Rick.

I have always been more concerned with light....or the lack thereof to produce shadows. But I guess I am reverting, because as my business grows I am starting to think more about gear.
