I have been looking and looking from txdot to insurance board but have not found anything about that .I have found a lot about getting a salvage title but nothing about getting it registered.
anyone out that know anything about this let me know. I need to know by mon, I am going to war with Farmers. I need ammo for the battle. I just want my car fixed. the engine is in perfect condition the only thing that is wrong with the car is the damage from the wreck and some old hail damage. the insurance company wants to give me 1100 for the car. No way is that a fair market value for that car. even with the hail damage it's worth 2200 and if the damage on the car is 1400 than i should be get that minus the salage and from what i have read i can get a salvage title and I am good to go. |
No you can still get the car registered even if it's a totaled vehicle. However, the title will show that it is a total loss. Thus, you can't get "full coverage" on your auto policy for that vehicle.
The most the insurance company will pay is the "actual cash value" of the vehicle. They use multiple sources to try to gather that value. Where did you get the value of 2200 with the hail damage? I would try and give that info to the insurance adjuster. Let me know if you have any other questions
