Well to clarify what someone said earlier, for this cruise we are not looking strictly for romance. We'd like a mix of romance, relaxation and adventure...and I'd like to find that in a combination ON the ship AND on the stops. This isn't a wedding anniversary trip (that starts today. woo hoo).

Sounds like Cozumel is the bees knees here! I"ve heard nothing but great things too.

has anyone here been to Montego Bay?

#2 and 3 are in the lead now w#2 being the smartest pick (I think) because we won't have to fly down there and start off the trip w/ Jet lag!

Well Erica, no responses in 8 hrs. looks like no one has been to Montego Bay. Neither have I. Like others have suggested you could go to the boards at cruisecritic.com and find a lot of information just by clicking on the different ports of call. Just wanted to add about Cozumel, another thing you might look into is doing a private excursion on catamaran or trimaran. They will take you somewhere to snorkel and usually provide the snorkel gear and cold beer. Kinda neat just gliding along and being able to see the ocean floor 15 feet below you. I am just not sure if any fish are around any more after the hurricane destroyed the coral. You could do a google search and probably find something. I would try to avoid the ship sponsored excursions as much as possible. (just my opinion)..........have a great time!

Erica,

I have been on a couple which was one more that I wanted to do. Cozumel was a stop on both of them, but the one I enjoyed the most was when we stayed there from 08:00 AM to midnight. Most other stops have you pulling out between 4:00PM and 5:30 PM. Just not enough time in my opinion.

Keepsake. Read my first reply. We have been to Jamaica. 2003 Ocho Rios and 2004 Montego Bay.

In Montego Bay we took the Appleton Estate Rum Tour. In Ocho Rios we took the Dunn's River Falls Tour. There are many other tours from both locations. Parts of Jamaica are in fact very dirty, I used this as a photo op.

Now try this information.

There is a thread about "Crime Risk Advisory" in Jamaica.

Remember, you don't have to get off of the ship if you don't want to.
