When in college I was working for the yearbook staff. One day I had 21 rolls of 120 Plus-X (6x6) to process and proof for the next morning.

I had only two plastic reels. Rolls 1 & 2 went OK. Roll 3 kept sticking soooo, I filled one of the 3.5 gallon tanks with water, tear-dropped the film, then immersed the reel underwater. Voila! Pre-wash and load simultaneously.

I spent all night. I finally got done around 10 AM. Now off to the student union. Grabbed my stuff, left the lab and pushed open the very heavily tinted doors to the outside. I was greeted by sunshine and almost two feet of snow.

Hurts the eyes.

here's another ... from the days of film

you go out and capture some of the best photos of your lifetime (or so you think) and then you start to think, "hmmm ... I don't recall loading new film into the camera and I know I shot more than 36 photos ... let's see ... don't you know it ... NO FILM

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggghhhh!

... of course, a significant part of the event (or the day or the hike) is over already
