Lightning definitely causes leg spasms. When I was a kid in Brazoria County, TX, supposedly right after the thunderstorm was over, and the rain almost was, I of course had to bike down the street to hear the "sssszzzzzzzzz" of wet road in the bike fenders. That was when the lightning hit about 20 feet in front of my slowing down bike, both feet went into the front spokes, I flipped TOWARD where that loud bang just came from, skidded on the road, airless lungs suddenly sucking air. Yep, lightning causes leg spasms!
