just got home from the hospital after visiting wendy for a bit, unfortunately lisa is out of town and missed visiting with her but i do have good new... wendy is doing great! im no doctor or anything but her spirits are definitely up!

as bill mentioned she wont know until tomorrow when they inspect her leg to see how its healing up. i know she's getting a little bit of cabin fever in there since she's been there for almost 2 weeks now.

she said to tell everyone hi and thank everyone for all of the kind words, thoughts and prayers...

tonight was the first that she has heard that we were raising money for her and her family she was very moved to say the least... moved to tears actually... almost made me cry but i manned up and held it back well sorta hehee.

anyways i thought i would give u gives the update and everyone say a prayer tonight that she can finally return home tomorrow sometime!

Thanks again for all of the donations and kinda words... you guys have been truly awesome and this sort of outpouring makes me VERY PROUD to be a member here amongst all of you great people...

we'll prolly cut donations off this sunday so that i can get everything sent their way early next week...

Hey, why cut off the donations? Just give Wendy what you have so far and then more later if you get more. I know some folks are on vacation and maybe have been too busy to check in. Never too late to help out...

got another update from Wendy a short bit ago...

she was released last night and is at home finally after close to 2 weeks in the hospital. she mentioned last night was very tough on her with the traveling and moving around etc but has said today is going much better for her. she's getting around the house with the help of a walker. she has said this really has made her realize how much we all take for granted as far as doing simple things such as walking to the kitchen to get yourself something to drink etc...

man i bet it will be tough on her for a while but at least she is at home and out of that hospital!!!

Wow. When I first heard about this I was pissed, then overwhelmed, and now incredibly touched. I'm at a loss for words, and those of you that know me know that doesn't happen often. Thank you just doesn't seem to do justice to what I'm feeling right now. I'll post an update in another thread.

You guys are amazing... We ran this fundraiser for exactly 1 week and have rasied a whopping $2200 for Wendy and her family during this trying time.


I really would like to thank each and every member that has taken a minute out of their busy day to wish Wendy a speedy recovery and that said a prayer for her and her family...

The amount you guys raised is simply jawdropping... I had tons and tons of emails from people all across the state (and even some outside our state lines) wish wendy the best and donated what they could to help our cause which is truly moving. Witnessing the vast amount of caring people share their best wishes etc here on the forum has really shown me what we're all about here on the forum. we are indeed a family... always willing to lend a hand to those in need of it..

I know Wendy will not like accepting the funds but as I told her... if another member were in her situation, she would be right along side us raising money to help them!

Most of the credit should go to you Abel for hosting a forum where the members are not afraid to donate to a good cause. I for one know of several forums where I wouldn't feel confident that my donation would make it to the intended recipient.

You have always fostered a feeling of sincerity and honesty. Something that should not be taken for granted.
