This is what my 4yo son comes to tell me before we left yesterday. Sarah and I never saw it, and she was reaching in there getting some that morning. She also has a severe phobia of spiders (she was late to work once because one went in her mirror and wouldn't come out). So we both go in the kitchen and look at these grapes, which were still in the bag from the store. And to my shock..... (pic below)

Nice shot of the spider.
You have a very creative view of the spider.

Black Widow spider will increase her fear of the 8 legged creature.
I hope you told the store about your findings.

Yikes! My daughters would probably never eat grapes again, because they would be afraid of finding another one.

Great shot though!

We have found about..umm.. 8 or 9 this past few months (not in grape bags mind you). Had our house/yard sprayed twice, still finding them, although not IN the house.

Apparently (according to the bug man) this year everywhere has been rife with them. According to him they (bugs in general) go in cycles and this year is a black widow cycle.

They give me the eebbeeggeebbees.

For your wife, go into Sharper image, they have this COOL bug sucker-up-er. Looks like a big water gun (so you don't have to be near the bug) switch it on and it vaccums the bug up into an escape free chamber. I bought ours for the kids to catch and observe grasshoppers and such, but stole it back from them for personal bug eliminating use :)

I think I've had some in my garage, I've found a few with the right body shape, and black, but with white mottling instead of the red hourglass. I was thinking maybe they were juveniles or females?

Yikes.....I guess I will refrain from helping the SO tote the groceries from now on. Now
I will have a viable excuse.

I had a few of these spiders in the back yard 2 years ago but have not seen any since.

I saw quite a few in Canada... not many at all in AZ, and only a few here in Texas. I've not been very lenient with the few I have seen, though...

I don't know about juveniles, but that's a pic of the female. The males are smaller, brownish and harmless.
