Last night I DJed a beautiful wedding with a photographer that I tend to work with A LOT. His normal assistant wasn't there...a different one had filled in...
During the coarse of the evening, she said several things that made me believe this was one of her first rodeos...photographing a wedding.
I asked. She said OH NOOOO.... Been doin' this for YEARS...old wedding PRO...and really dug in about that...
Later...she comes up after I start a song and says "What is this? Everyone seems to like it."
Hint.
If you are trying to make people think you are at weddings a lot...when you hear a song that starts off:
" Excuse me, sweetheart...What's the name of that ole new dance? The E...E...E-Electric Sliiiiide...."
Act like you're sick of it. DO NOT ask what it is. We know you aren't at weddings all the time if you've never heard it.
There.....helpful hint from a DJ girl. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Marco...true that. I ask on my planner form in one section of "check yes or no" and list
Chicken dance
Electric Slide
Macarena
Conga
YMCA, etc...etc...
They can say yes, no, or if requested....it's been a while since I've played the Electric Slide. But not so long I wouldn't recognize it! ha ha....

I don't get out much
or
I'm older than dirt
'cuz I never heard Electric Slide.
In case you're wondering how to vote, it's YES! on both of the above!
It's been a 100 years since I shot a wedding. I've only been to two that mattered, my daughter's and her mother's, and there was a band at both.
Howsomever, you hit the nail on the head about the "old pro."

HA...yes, Wayne...but you also clearly state "It's been a 100 years since I shot a wedding."
Not "I do these ALL THE TIME"...
See the difference? ha ha

Maybe she wasn't from around your area originally? I have mobile dj'd in NW AR since 1987, and I never played the electric slide song.
Think outside your box.

From 1992 to 1994, I played dances in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Texas, at all of them played the Electic Slide and I guarentee, at least 30 people went to the floor to dance! But then Boot Scootin Boogie also works for the Electic Slide too!

One the "day from hell" - two weddings in one day - that L and I shot in September, we decided there should be a law about the number of times one should have to hear in one day:
1. The Electric Slide
2. YMCA
3. Thriller
4. The Bird
sigh
