Unhappy Printing a Photo Book - 10-08-2006, 12:55 PM

I want to print a coffee table book of my photo collection as gifts for my family...

I tried Kodak books but apparently they run an auto color or something on all my images and shifted the color on me... the quality of the binding and paper was excellent but the color was all wrong... (I get very close to their results when I run Photoshop CS2's auto-color function).

I wrote to them but no response... (funny: they sent me a survey to ask how I liked their Support response... )

SO... are there others out there that are printing and getting good results... please help me find a great service...

Thanks,
Ron from Aledo

p.s... regarding my color management... I used the Spider system to color manage my setup and when I print the images (for example: on Ilford paper using Ilford's profile) on my Canon i9900 I get exactly (ok... very very close) what is on my screen...

I saved the images as JPEG Adobe RGB (1998) 8-bit color.

usually, they expect things to be saved as sRGB as that's what their process understands. They obviously converted the color profile for you!

Yes... www.Blurb.com. Download the BookSmart software and you're off and running!

Good luck!

iPhoto and Apple let you print some nice inexpensive books.
