sent me the wrong connecting wires to go from the ab-800's to the pocketwizards, so i called them today to set up the exchange of the right parts. they have a recording on there that they are "on vacation until monday the 16th." that's great for them..they get some time off whatever. but $#%&ty for business in my opinion. atleast keep a couple of grunt workers around to handle things like this. it seems every time i need them they are closed with some weird jacked up hours. good think for radio shack. i got what i need. just wanting to vent.

observes Jewish holidays, and good for them, although it can be a PITA from time to time. My neighbor is a Rabbi, and when I told her that they, Adorama and others do this, she got mad and said they needed some gentile employees to keep the doors open.

I didn't think Adorama does this. They've been open whenever I needed something.

Adorama used to do it but I haven't noticed it recently. They must have hired some of us gentiles. :-)

In other forums this has been responded to by Henry Posner of B&H. They have gentile workers but the owners don't think they should make anyone work on Holy days. So every one gets off.

It's not about working as the more basic issue of conduction any kind of business on those days. The reason they don't even take orders on the website on those days is because that would be doing business.

Hey they offer great service, good prices, one great website (use it to research prices/product all the time), and I visited their booth in Austin at the PPA show and they were nice people. So let them take time off whenever they wish, it isn't like a trauma center of a hospital that if it is closed it would mean your life or death.

Like you said, Radio Shack had what you needed and you picked it up faster (transit time) so why even complain on here?

As they always say, if you don't like it, you're more than welcome to take your money someplace else.

That and B&H is a PRIVATE company, so they can run it as they wish.

yeah the jewish holidays always get me at the wrong time of year also...but your friendly Radio shack has the cables you need for 5.99 and there is no shipping.

Also, because of B&h's holiday schedule I found Calumet Photo a couple years ago and they are awesome and equal BH in price and services.

I have ordered several items from B&H, and I think once from Adorama. I have also read of a lot of other dealers that, unlike these two, have major problems in the integrity department. I would far far rather order from B&H or Adorama and put up with some holiday schedules than to deal with some of those other guys and get cheated 8 ways.

the reason i was complaining in the first place was because i specifically asked for one thing and they sent me the other. and now that i have to return/exchange their mistake they are not open for a week. i'm lucky radio shack did have what i needed. and i'm not losing any sleep over it...just kind of frustrated about it. i could see a couple days closed or something, but a week seems kind of extreme.

they are a private business so they can run it the way they want...great observation. from a business stand point however i'm sure they will/have lost customers over this. i'll still buy from them, like i said just frustrated. but now that the problem is fixed...everything is fine.
