My baby... Glock 17 w/ 2 hollowpoint filled magazines (one normal & one pre-ban 17 round). 17 in the clip and one in the hole...

When my passed away a few years ago, I was supposed to get a bunch of stuff of his. He trusted my stepmom to give me a number of things, as well as 401K money, ext (he told me this before he passed). Well, she took it all. The one thing I did get, was his Glock. This thing means a GREAT deal to me. Although I didn't know he had any firearms till I was 19'ish, he had carried (legally) since he turned 21. For years and years, of all the guns he owned, this was the firearm he carried all the time. The one he trusted his life too. So, not only does it mean a LOT to me just because it was his, but also because of what it meant to him.

So, there is the story behind what is on my desk... ;) Next?

Correction - The 17 round magazine IS the normal magazine. The other one is a clinton abomination. The magazine was originally designed to hold 17 rounds. They had to screw it up to cut the capacity down to 10. My humble advice to you, sir, now that the ban has expired, is to divest yourself of it immediately and uncerimoniously and aquire another normal capacity magazine. 35 > 28

Okay...this is hanging in the airspace over my desk...so it counts :-)

A relic from the days of yore at the newspaper...but too cool to take down.

I'd post a picture of my desk, but it would redefine the term 'cluttered mess' in most dictionaries.

Same here. But I shot this one when it was a bit cleaner... Well, I was also in the middle of a couple projects.

The letter opener on the CD's is a custom made Randall #14 for those who are into blades. The colorfull thermos was what I carried my drinking water in when I was living in China. The print, Africa's Child, is by Corrie Maritz and the poem by the Rhodeisan Troopie/writer/poet Chas Lotter and inscribed to me by by Chas. There are many other things from various places and times where I've been.

This is what I am supposed to be doing instead of messing around on here. As always, TPF wins. But its time to get serious, I'm heading back to the books .... although, I never really got started. I've been trying for two hours now.

(look at that, I even made a border for it... man I'm I good at delaying the inevitable)

Somehow I missed the ban lift. I know they lifted a ban on assault rifles, but I didn't know I could now get the high capacity clip. Thanks!

I have a penchant for penguins.

And everyone in my family knows it, so I am never in short supply.

*woops* too much FM posting, forgot the correct tag.

I appologize for the poor quality - but not really even supposed to have the phone-cam in here at work.. lol

But these are part of my collection of Muscle Car Hotwheels and Matchbox cars that I have collected and have on a shelf over my desk. The big black is my all time favorite - a 69 Camero and the 3 in front of it are a 67, 68 & 69 Camero.

The guys here refer to it as Mel's Garage
