Customer: I'll have two quarter pounders, one order of large fries, and a medium Coke.

MickeyD: Do you want a rat with that?

It's probably a picture taken from a TV screen and not a video capture.

OK on what I have heard is that it was a juvenile Norway Roof rat which are real common in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and that it was down in the salad itself not on top of the leaves since the au pair had several bites of her salad before finding it which then made her very ill.

I thought that most of those salads were made at a central commisary and then trucked out to the individual stores already with the plastic lid on the unit so that the entry of the rodent wouldn't have occured at the local Mickey D's but at the central prep area and if it is like most commisaries it is pretty large and I bet semi automated. IE people don't hand place the main salad ingredients (lettuce) into the salad bolw but I bet a machine system dumps prechopped salad into each bowl at a certain weight level and then the prep workers drop the pretty looking toppings on top and then the lid is put on.

So if a young rat, which are active right now(I just read the WFAA story and saw that this happened back in the summer), got into the system it could have crawled into an empty bowl or somewhere in the system and gotten into the lettuce part of the salad and the final prep worker didn't see it's little carcas moving around in there or it could have already been dead and fallen in.

I bet that commisary is being gone over from top to bottom! So the individual Mickey D's isn't where you would look but the commisary which is not what they want the people to realize since it would be doing salad prep for dozens if not hundreds of outlets.

It just happened to be an au pare who worked for a Cowboys Coach who got the salad. Heard that Mc Donalds actually sent a management type to the house to investigate (which to me would indicate that this may be going on elsewhere and they are keeping it hushed up). Of course the workers at the individual retail outlet are not going to stir around in that salad because they don't want to mess up the pretty look of the product!

I would consider a rat in any MacDonald's product an improvement in the quality. They are called in French "mal bouffe" and quite correctly.

Besides what's wrong with rat? If you are in Guangzhou, check out the rat on the menu.

I'll take the rat over a Big Mac any day.

I saw the story air on the news, that is a video capture of the camera filming a still picture.

Heard that the Cowboys had to make an emergency landing last night, one of the strength coaches became ill soon after the flight took off, maybe a rat in his victory cocktail?
