Thanks Tiffany, that is a really cool list. I was surprised at how many of them I have seen. At least 90% of them. I have no life.

I agreed with most of them, especially Rosemary's Baby, Eraserhead, and the remake of The Fly. I was also glad to see the original version of War of the Worlds, not that piece of crap remake that Spielberg made. That was really a fun list.

I'm surprised Roeg's Don't Look Now is not on it.

If you have not seen it, I recomend it.

Noticed no House of Wax, no Nosferatu, none of the classic 30's/40's horror films and only 1 older black and white (Freaks).
AFI has yet to do a horror film list but they did do a heroes and villians list a few years ago

I love the film Freaks. I worked for WB and did the film restoration on the film Freaks. It has such a deep history and the subject matter scares alot of people.

Freaks has an interesting relationship to the work of Diane Arbus. She was a great fan of the film and saw it many times and later photographed Andrew Ratoucheff who stared in the Todd Browning film.

Arbus's photograh, Identical twins, Roselle, N.J., was Kubrick's inspiration for the image of the twin girls in The Shining.

#14, The Changling

Holy crap that movie messes with your mind. Saw that at a midnight showing at an old creepy downtown theater in Abilene TX on Halloween.....
