Little red x's

I'm wondering if there is a correlation between the little red x's and particular hosting sites. I can usually open most, if not all of the posted pictures on TPF at home yet when on my work computer, it's not uncommon for more than half of the pics to not show at all. If the e-site is not allowed or blocked then I would get a nice RED screen filling message noting that but that's not the case... the pics just won't show.
Has anyone else had the same problem and discovered a fix?

It's been happening some with the pics on Pbase lately but I've found if I just refresh the screen many times they will load with no problem.

Steve - depending on which thread you are in you could be having blocked issues or pic issues.

Some of the older threads have pics linked that are no longer online - so you would get the "red x".

As for blocked at work - I know that here at my work almost all photo storing sites are blocked at the firewall. So if the image is linked back to a blocked site - it will have just have a red x.

Actually here where I work this whole forum is blocked... thank goodness for admin rights to remote outside!!!!
