Is Romo For Real - 10-30-2006, 08:59 AM

Anyone watch the Cowboys game last night? I can't figure this team out. I am a diehard fan-went to my first game as a kid in 1961- but this team is driving me crazy. Romo looked like the next coming of Unitas. Is it a fluke? I sure hope not, but these days you can never tell. It would not surprise me at all if he throws four interceptions and they lose next week by 5 touchdowns.

The again, maybe Romo is the real thing.....

Time will tell. Remember, Troy Aikman was 1 win and 15 losses in his first season but went on to win superbowls. I wish Romo well. He did a great job last night in my opnion.

I'm willing to bet that, on the list of great Cowboy quarterbacks, Romo will go down a few steps below Craig Morton. Unitas? You have to be kidding. Not even Earl Morrell.

I have to admit. I was a HUGE Romo skeptic despite his impressive performance in the preaseason.

Last night erased all of my doubt. That was a big game last, his first start in the NFL EVER, and he made some HUGE big leage plays. I was star struck. I may even have to go buy me a Romo Jersey. I'm his newest fan boy.

Did anyone hear the panthers chanting Romo, Romo??? I couldn't tell if they were chanting Romo, Romo, or Romo, Go Home?!?! Either way, that's some respect. I did notice that their stands were nearly empty in the 4th quarter, and every good play by the cowboys was met with cheers.

Duffy- Earl Morrell, now there is a blast from the past.

Jim, I'm with you- I thought he did a great job. I was very impressed. But then again, anyone remember Gary Hogeboom's first start?

Who knows, maybe the Cowboys have gotten lucky this time around. They could definately use a little luck right about now.

Hey Romo ain't Green, being on staff for 4 years, just not put on the track and run hard but last night he did a great job (wish I hadn't fallen asleep during that 4th qtr).

Romo is going back into the mold of Roger the Doger, a quaterback who knows when and how to run to advance the ball. Roger is still one of my favorite Quarterbacks.

Funny video clip on the local news with what looked like Parcell kissing a handful of the players and him grinning like an old coot.

Parcell was hilarious at the end of the game! The hubby and I couldn't stop laughing. Parcell usually looks like he just got done sucking a lemon, even when they win, but last night with the kissing and the hugging! LoL.

I'm not going to declare my love for Romo until after next week. If he can bury the Redskins then he's "IN" as far as I'm concerned. One game just isn't enough to make a call.

I agree Amy...beat the freaking skins and you'll be in our hearts.

The thing I loved most about watching him last night was...he was unpredictable. Which is exactly the kind of QB that you need. He could just take off running...he could take off, then find a reciever on a broken route (Whitten, TO...whomever).

He's a heck of a lot more fun to watch than cement-foot Bledsoe.

Well... it's time to get back in the game.

For the past four years I've been saying Romo was nothing but a decent NFL backup quarterback. Then last week in the second half against New York I started to change my mind. He moves well, has decent size, has very good arm strength, and a lightning quick release. If he can just conquer the demons of bad decisions and become consistently accurate (Aikman's strong point) then he's going to be a very good quarterback but only time will tell.

1 good game does not a great quarterback make. I'm excited to see Romo get his chance, but I'm taking a wait-and-see approach.
