Question Imaging USA In San Antonio - 10-30-2006, 06:30 PM

I was wondering who else has decided to go? To book and get good rates the hotels charge you at the time of booking. Is that commonplace now for that to be the case?
I miss the good 'ole days when you could just call 'em up and reserve on your card without it being charged.
Any recommendations on inexpensive places to stay near or on the riverwalk?

Thanks!

Big Photographic trade show, this year it was held in Austin which was the first time that they had been back in Texas in over 15 or so years.

There were free passes available to the trade show floor and there was a great display by Canon that had some really great guest speakers.

There are also a lot of work shops offered on all sorts of topics and they usually are at a reasonable rate.

The historic St. Anthony Hotel recently came into the official hotel group. They have a nightly room rate of $ 109. single or double. It is a wonderfully quaint old hotel and is part of the Wyndham historic hotel lineup. Before you call the hotel to register you should go to www.Wyndham.com and sign up for wyndhambyrequest. It is free and you get such perks as free local and long distance phone calls, free wireless high speed internet access throughout the hotel, complimentary arrival beverage and snack in your room (mine is Merlot and cheese & crackers with fruit). If you can find a PPA member that is going there is a free buddy pass convention registration. Or you can join PPA and get free convention registration the first year. Offer expire 10/31/06. THAT'S TOMORROW

Have you contacted Debbie Scott in Houston? She is in charge of volunteers, but maybe not student volunteers.

Do it tomorrow. If you have any trouble getting a spot (which I doubt) contact me and I will pull some strings. The sooner you sign up the more choices you have for requesting speakers. You probably want to request the sports track speakers, right?

Either sports or weddings. Last year the assignments seemed more random than anything, but they gave us lots of free time, so it all worked out. I'll be happy just to be there!!

Now I know what it is, but so far nobody has spilled the beans on when.

Or where, for that matter.
