Time Warner Highspeed changeover - 10-31-2006, 10:42 AM

Is anyone else being cursed by this affiction? It's driving me crazy. One day the computer is down. The next day it's up, and receives e-mail, but can't send.
Now I can't upload attachments. Great. I have clients waiting to see proofs and all they can say is sorrysorrysorry.

Burn the shots to a DVD/CD and then go to Kinkos and use their computer or your local library branch. Yeah it's a pain but you can at least get the pics on line.

Thanks Deep Ellum. All of Garland is apparently TWC. It's the one choice.
This is really affecting me because I had a $3000 e-mail I couldn't answer. I had no other contact info.
I can't get photo orders because I can't upload the dang things. I don't want them having the proofs. I need to sell them. :-( I'm just so peeved by this. It won't wreck my business, but it's doing a good job at totally screwing me up.
TXHummer. Dang! I'd have a lawsuit going. That type of stuff can kill a small business.

As soon as Wichita Falls got a choice over TWC and ATT DSL....I bolted.

Clearwire....it's not as fast (sadly) as the High Speed TW....but I haven't had a problem yet and I had all of the same problems when I had Time Warner that you guys are having.

The other fave. thing about Clearwire...the modem picks the signal up out of the air. It's not truely wireless (have to have the modem plugged into the computer and the A/C.....but it makes my internet portable. As long as I have an A/C plug in (which I do in my car) and I'm in the Clearwire network...I have it.

Sadly...Clearwire hasn't migrated to the metroplex yet...but they have plans to. 'Course, that doesn't help you now.

Well... it's time to get back in the game.

I'm wireless.
After a two hour hold, I am now being told that my computer has malfunctioned at the exact time they did this changeover thingie. It's my fault. My computer must have broken.
Yeah, right.
I'm on hold again. Waiting to speak to a supervisor. Who will doubtlessly tell me that my computer broke.
I could strangle someone.

Ken, I don't know what's worse, Comcast or TWC. Before I moved I had Southwestern Bell and it was flawless.

I certainly understand. We're going through it too. Sunday, we couldn't get or send emails. Yesterday, we could send but couldn't receive. Last night about midnight emails started arriving again that were sent in the morning. Aaaaargggh!

Hi Janet, I'm DSL but tempted to pay the bucks for the more high speed thingie. It's like $200 bucks a month, but if I can avoid this problem.....yah!
The crappy part is, I'm already paying a crapload for this $hitty service, and I just want it to work. No biggie. I can't make money if I can't put this stuff online.
BTW-I'm still on hold. The supervisor apparently doesn't know how to test my wireless modem. He'll have to talk to his supervisor. Isn't this the 4th hour on hold now?
All I want is to see a little white truck pull up and fix the damn problem. But apparently all the little white trucks are very busy with all the people who are so in love with the changeovers. I'm the only person on the planet having this problem.
Uh Huh.
4 hours on hold because everyone is compelled to call up TWC and tell them how wickedly wonderful the changeover is.
Me thinks not.

I went through the same thing two months ago. When we were able to schedule an appointment, but they could come for two weeks...they are that busy. I was nearly without internet for a full month.

Turned out there was a bad Node in my area.
