Yup! Our whole city (Elgin) lost power yesterday around 2pm, and it was out till late ;ast night. As much as that sucks, I liked it. It took out all the street lights and such, and so our neighborhood was pitch black. It made for a nice Holloween trick or treat experience. Everyone just went and sat in their yards to give candy and such. It was a lot of fun for the kids, as well as the parents... :)

I think it takes and pretty interesting twist of events to knock out all the power in your whole town on Halloween night! Even better than a book/movie...! ;)

That happened here in Bryan/College Station a few years ago. The whole city went black for around 6 hours or so. The good news is that class was canceled. The bad news is that I was living on campus at the time, it was summer, and as soon as the electricity went out the dorms became ovens. We all basically laid outside for hours until the power came back on.

Heck, it happened a few weeks ago on a Tuesday night. Power was out from sometime in the afternoon until about midnight-ish... during test week... And classes weren't cancelled, either. Oh well...
