I've never read anything by Styron, and having seen the absolutely dreadful Sophie's Choice, I've basically avoided him. If I were going to pick up something of his (other than Sophie's Choice), what would you recommend? Nat Turner?

Duffy, Nat Turner is great, but honestly, give Sophie's Choice a try. The book is much better than the movie. Especially as it builds towards the end, it is just hearbreaking to read.
