Unhappy I thought I lost them all! - 11-03-2006, 10:33 AM

We took our 2 year old twins to the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm to see the pumpkin patches and enjoy the festivities. Being their first time to enjoy the Halloween holiday, Sadee & Josh were ecstatic!!! Of course I took a bunch of photos. Move ahead to Halloween night. I wanted to test my new foam bounce card with my flash. So I start snapping off shot after shot and nothing really looked good. I want to start over and I format my card. <--------- 1 sec after I pooped a brick! I thought I switched CF cards after the pumkin patch day. NOPE! I just lost all my photos. There were no words to descibe how I felt at that moment. Not sure why but I took out the CF card and lay it down on my desk magically hoping I really did not do what I think I just did. So off we go trick-or-treating at our church carnival. Can't stop thinking about what I did.

Last night I finally get around to my CF card. I search for anwsers and magic really does happen. So person in some forum in some country suggests PC INSPECTOR smart recovery. It's FREE (but they do accept donations and they will get one from me!). PC Inspector was able to RECOVER ALL 115 RAW files that I formatted in camera. I almost cried. I will not be preaching about lessons, but if this happens to you...try that software.

That is all.

I'm glad you recovered your images.

Some sort of image recovery program is mandatory for serious photographers.....

aww I'm glad you were able to recover them. I wish I had known about this before. My brother had taken a bunch of pictures of his trip out here and he did the samething. We'll never be able to get those pictures back :( I'm sure this will save someone else from that heartache
