Nothing earth-shattering, just a random thought....

I'll bet those folks walking around with the big leather bags hate this time of year. I must get 15-20 junk-mail catalogs a day during this season. I can only imagine the amount of additional weight these folks have to carry until after the holidays.....

Political flyers is what is weighing them down this week.
UPS will be kicking into full Peak Season mode in about a week and if you plan to order anything fragile do it NOW since things go all screwy after Turkey day.

It is un-believable how much junk mail we get now-days. A lot of it now comes disguised (looks legitimate). Sometimes I have to open it just to make sure I am not throwing away something that may be important. It never is though. Big waste of my time. I could be using that time for more important things like staring at photoshop wondering how something works, then staring some more and wondering some more. Then get photoshop book out and not find what I am looking for. Then stare some more.......Now that is how I should be spending my time........sorry, got of track there.

My carrier - 11-03-2006, 04:06 PM

has a lightweight nylon bag. When I know I have packages coming, I catch him around the corner at the start of his route. Two weeks ago, that was around 9:30. With all the extra mail, it's around 10:30. The number of parcels he has to deilver is unbelievable. My UPS man usually hits his first stop aroun 9:30, but the other day he told me he didn't get out of the terminal until after 10:30 AM.

Of course, the Postal Service does NOT call it "junk mail." But, yes, this is the carrier's very busy season and they do have pretty physically demanding jobs. I'm sure they are glad that people notice their hard work.

I keep our UPS driver and USPS carrier pretty busy, and they will always stop soewhere and meet me to deliver a package. Once in awhile I will buy their lunch as a token of my appreciation.

I rarely get junk mail at home, I get bills, bills, and more bills and an occasional photoshop user magazine or rangefinder magazine o_O
