Pizza - 05-06-2005, 08:54 PM

Ok, admit it, you like it. Come on, you know you do, so just tell us about it....

The finest Pizza I have eaten in Texas so far is in a little hole in the wall place in Cibolo, TX of all places! Catalano's Pizzaria makes real New York style, hand made crust pizzas. The best crust I have had, and my current favorite is: spinach, mushroom, fresh basil, fresh garlic and tomato pizza. The wife and kids want pepperoni. (210)566-9706 in Cibolo, TX. Amazing pizza.

In North Austin there are 2 places that I swear by: Reale's (183 and Anderson) and Saccone's (183 and Pecan Park). Both are true Italian east coast style, but Reale's is more of an Italian restaurant while Saccone's is a sub/pizza shop. I like Reale's more for their sauce, but Saccone's has the New York style pies that bring me back home. In fact, we had Saccone's tonight :D

I love the pizza at the Cheesecake Factory. They have a simple tomato-basil one that is to die for. I also really like the mushroom pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. I know both of these places are chains, but they are good!

Pizzaria Uno is awesome too. Not too long ago I was in Ft. Worth and I grabbed a pie there. YUM.

Also a Napoli in Meyer Park accross fomr the Randall's.

I like the Margheritta Pizza at New York Pizzeria, one of the best I ever had.

For a neat "Cheesesteak" Pizza (or any Calzone) try Spaghetti Western off of Shepphard accross from Jaxx. It's not on the menu, but ask the owner/head chef Greg to cook it for you.

I just got back from Italy 2 1/2 weeks ago - man lot's of good pizza there - I tried a dozen differant varieties. All thin crust though (I am more of a "Pie" type myself).

Antonio's in College Station (Northgate). Best pizza I've eaten. Maybe it was the beer that was making it taste good.

I love pizza. We call to a nice carryout place where it is fairly inexpensive, but good. (La Bella Pizza) We usually get pepperoni on thin crust to please everyone in the household, but my dream pizza is a medium crust, pepperoni, Italian sausage and lots of jalapenos. :)

I ordered a Pizza last night, pepperoni for the spouse-unit and kids. Wednesday is buffet day, and its so good, you want to stay and eat all day. He makes calzones and strombolis that are incredible. Its worth the drive just to eat there.

Star Pizza, in Houston, is great. In Dallas, I would have to go with Brother's Pizza. But, I'd take a real NY style pizza from NY anyday!!
