Just my one experience with this: Mine ground to a halt in CS2 some time ago. I'd loaded over a 100 12mp raw photos, fuji converted to tif as copies. CS2 pretty much locked up the computer. I cold started it. After it booted good, I looked at my disks. C-drive was 3% free. I then went to CS2 settings, and yep, CS2 wanted 50% of C-free. I wound up burning DVD's to clear photos off, and copied the same ones to another hard drive. Got 48% free on C. Then I looked at my larger D drive, cleaned it off, and wow, it had over 120GB free! So I changed CS2 to use D instead of C. It has never slowed down since. |
