Specifically for writing on photos? I'm not sure about that, but I know you can get gel pens in light colors. I even have white.

Look for paint pens instead of ink pens. They come in a rather limited assortment of colors both light and dark but will write on nearly anything and it's permanent when dry. Try a craft store or similar for the best selection...

some office supply stores have the paint pens. I have some in gold and silver, but be aware that they aren't fine tipped by any stretch of the imagination.......personally I prefer "signing" the pic with text within the image. It really looks better and you can undo it....

I have seen some of the paint pens that were relatively fine point, but it's still not the same as a pen.

I have my signature saved as a brush in PS. Looks a lot better that using text since it actually is my signature. You just select the brush and click where you want it.

Art supply stores, or Aaron Bros. Art Mart.

Sharpie makes a marker in silver. You can find them a Wallyworld or office supply stores.

Are you asking for a pen that just writes on photos (sharpies are great) or a pen for signing portraits or works of art??

One of my shots of a fire scene made it on the back of an area calendar, Cherokee County Fire Departments 2007 Calendar, and I have thought about trying to sell a limited number of autographed 8x10s as a fund raiser for my vfd and make a few $ for myself as well. Only problem is the bottom portion of the photo is almost total black. I may just scrap the idea and just sell as many as I can without the autograph.

If you're selling these as glossy prints I'd probably use one of those silver or gold sharpies. If E surface paper you might try a gold or silver metalic Pilot marker. They come in fine point. I use them to sign all of my wall portraits. Similar brands don't work as well. You might also consider scanning your signature and dropping it in digitally.

I use one of these and it works very well.

Sharpie® Metallic Fine Point Permanent Markers Metallic silver ink marks vividly on dark surfaces
