right now at Precision Camera
They told me that my camera would be repair in 14 days or less. I even told them EXACTLY what the heck is wrong with it. Now they decide to say that it is delayed for parts
I specifically said it had to be ready by next week. And I have read all of the horror stories about the wait for parts. I am on hold for a CS rep and been on hold for 15 minutes now
I wouldn't have sent it off had they told me it would be delayed!!!!!

they said they are ordering a shutter for it.
the camera started out giving a WAY blue picture that was really grainy and making noise. Then it went to the black screen that is so common in the Minoltas. And when you get the black screen it just kills the camera. Still turned on and all it turns itself off in the on switch.
I cleaned the contacts and I did some crap that the repair people said to do and it didn't fix it obviously.
Does that help?

It's tough to find good timely service anywhere. You have to look into renting something. What Minolta camera do you have?

The 7D.
But what pisses me off the most is that they told me I would have it back in time.
They flat out lied. Cause I told the lady that if it wouldn't I would wait until after Christmas to get it to them
Sorry I am having one of those days where no one does what they say they will and it is all building up. And lets just say some little Petty officer at the base has gotten the brunt of it so far lol.
Wonder who is next on my list

They will promise you anything without a thought. I was afraid you were going to say 7D. How long have you had it?

I know you needed your camera, but they can't diagnose everything on the phone, and even if they had parts on hand when you called, prior repairs might have taken them.

My 7D went haywire on 11/3 and I sent it to Precision 11/6. they received it on 11/10 and shipped it out repaired today, including replacing the top cover, alignments/adjustments and testing the AF. I really think they are doing a good job overall.
